Up to now I have only featured about nine celebrity houses. If you missed the previous ones including Cindy Crawford, Megan Fox, Woody Allen, Angela Lansbury, and Diane Keaton, among others please go here.
Although Tina Turner's primary residence is in Switzerland this villa is her holiday home on the French Riviera. Every major room of the multilevel villa, which was designed by architect Bruno Guistini, opens to a patio or balcony thus making the most of the breathtaking views atop a cliff on the Riviera. She enlisted designers Stephen Sills and James Huniford to help her pull together her music memorabilia, European furnishings and Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities. Thanks Tina for letting us tour your home!
Mediterranean-style villa she built in the south of France.
The front terrace has a sunken amphitheater. Her own amphitheater, how cool is that!
Tina bought this suite of gilt Louis Philippe fauteuils and canapés—twenty-two pieces in all, excluding, however, the king’s bed, which was in the Louvre. Turner says: “I wasn’t intimidated by the fact that it was palace furniture. It’s beautiful, it’s comfortable, and it set the tone for the whole house.”
The entrance hall leads to the dining room, where a contemporary pedestal table of ebony inlaid with bronze by French designer André Dubreuil is surrounded by Ming-style chairs. An antique Japanese vest hangs on the wall.
Grammy awards are displayed in the subterranean screening room along with stringed instruments, African drums and photographs.
The master bedroom, which overlooks Nice and Cap Ferrat, has an antique carved armoire, an Empire-style chair and sofa and an Indian-inspired patinated-bronze bed.
A spacious covered terrace off the master bedroom serves as an outdoor living room. Upholstered wicker pieces are mixed with an antique Thai chaise. Canvas Roman shades can be lowered to protect the space from the elements.
Turner wanted the pool terrace to suggest the ruins of a classical temple. A colonnade leads to the far end of the pool, where statuary is arranged.
