Dreamy Baroque Style

Tuesday and we're off to see this beautifully restored old residence in France. The Provence Baroque style and golden ochres of these rooms full of antiques takes us back in time. It would be a perfect set for a romantic film. Let us dream.

Austrian gilt chairs, antique chest of drawers and Venetian sofa covered with white linen cushions for the lounge.

dans la salle à manger, une grande table d’école, une commode baroque, des chaises italiennes et un lustre en métal à pampilles de bois se côtoient avec style.
In the dining room an iron and wood chandelier hangs over a large school table. Baroque Italian chairs and dresser.

On the other side of the room a stone frame draws a huge carpet on the concrete floor. Large windows with interior shutters. Nineteenth century rustic table lit by Italian baroque lanterns.

Dans la cuisine située dans l’ancienne cave, on a profité de la voûte pour installer un grand plan de travail en pierre qui accueille l’évier et les placards. Inspirées d’un autel d’église, deux petites marches servent d’étagères à verres.
The kitchen is located in the old cellar. On the left, to fill the recessed area which was once the bread oven, a custom made cupboard was built into the wall.

Situé entre deux escaliers, le palier a été métamorphosé en chambre d’appoint par un spectaculaire lit à la polonaise drapé de lin. Le sol est recouvert de dalles de pierre blonde provençale.
The landing has been turned into a bedroom. The extra bed is crowned by drapes in Polish linen. White Provencal stone flooring.


Dans la chambre aux murs patinés, le lit ancien en bois peint a été agrémenté d’un grand baldaquin en lin, fixé au plafond par des rubans, que l’on peut entièrement fermer.
In the master bedroom the painted wooden antique bed was decorated with a large linen canopy hung from the ceiling with ribbons.
