While sipping your Sunday morning coffee, or tea, or mate in my case, let's tour this dreamy cottage in Norway.

It's night time here, and for many of you I guess it must be Monday already, but anyway I wanted to wish you a very Happy Mother's Day to all you beautiful mothers! Hope you have all been duly pampered and had a wonderful day.

Now I leave you to enjoy today's tour that takes us to a story-like cottage in Norway. Hulda and Arnt Håvard live in this house called Ingerborgstua (apparently a woman named Inga used to live here) full of shabby chic details made by Hulda herself.

Meet the owners, Hulda and Arnt Håvard

A poem written by Hulda, which appeared in the newspaper, now hangs in her kitchen.

Rachel Ashwell founded Shabby Chic in 1989. Her first store, located in Santa Monica, CA, sold Rachel’s washable furniture slipcovers and flea market finds. Today, her stores are located in Santa Monica, California, SoHo, New York and London’s Notting Hill neighborhood, with ever-expanding lines of bedding, furniture, accessories and vintage items.

It's easy to add all the colour you long for and still look great when the background is neutral. All the items you love simply pop out while the neutrals of the walls and floors hold everything harmoniously together. This home is full of flea market and garage sale finds. I wonder if you like this style. Come and see.

Wicker sofa and rustic and beach-theme accessories. I love the pillows and rug and the enamel painted pot for flowers.

Close-up, the coffee table was made with salvaged wood.

Close up of the peonies. I'm sure blogger friend Jami would love them.

Traditional furniture mix with painted pieces, granny's foot stool and the old door leaning against the wall is an unusual way to balance off the decor.

Metal chairs around a distressed harp-style table entered the scene. The window frame matches the door against the wall of the previous photograph.

Ccolorful accessories in every room.

Family pieces including the little-girl tea set on the top shelf mix with the homeowner's collection of red-and-white transferware.

This old bicycle serves as a flower pot holder.
